Workin' in the yard

For the next month or so, we are putting our yard in! I didn't realize how much work it is! Steve has been waiting a long time to do this. He loves yardwork! I'm excited to have grass and not so much dirt everywhere! Jackson LOVES to be outside! He likes getting into anything! He is discovering all sorts of stuff. We finally got the sprinkling system done, and are moving onto the curbing and sod. What a project! But it will be well worth it, relaxing in the yard on a warm summer evening, watching the sun set! That's my favorite time of the day!

Ate some dirt - didn't think it was so good!

The only flowers we have so far!

Superman!

Jackson took a spill in the dirt! Poor little guy!
Just being a boy - dirt from head to toe!

Hey everyone! We decided it was time to start our family blog! Just to catch everyone up… We got married on August 27, 2004 in the Bountiful Temple. It was the most beautiful day we could ever imagine, in every possible way! It was not only a celebration of enduring through 18 months of letter writing, but also of the excitement of starting our lives together! Steve surprised me with a honeymoon in Cancun! We made our home in Logan, Utah, where we both attended Utah State University. Go Aggies!!! During school I worked for IHC at Logan Regional Hospital as a Cardiac Tech. I enjoyed the atmosphere and hope to someday return to get a nursing degree. We loved our time in Logan, but were excited when we were done with school!
I graduated in May 2006 with a bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, and Steve graduated in

December 2006 with a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. Steve accepted a job at ES3, an engineering firm in Clearfield, Utah, that designs landing gear for the Air Force. In April 2007 we bought a home in Clinton, Utah, where we prepared for the arrival of our baby boy!
On May 30, 2007, our little Jackson Carter Staley was born! He weighed 7 lbs. 6 oz. and stole his mommy and daddy's hearts! He was in the Newborn ICU for the 4 days we were at the hospital, due to high blood sugar levels. He was a tough little guy and everything turned out fine! So mommy and baby got to come home! Our lives have never been the same - so wonderful, enriching, and worth it! He is the love of our lives and we adore him! So does his grandparents, aunts, and uncles! He is the only grandchild on both sides, so needless to say, he is very spoiled and has had more pictures taken of him than Tom Cruise! I can't believe he is almost a year old! He is walking everywhere, has 8 teeth, and helps mommy and daddy to stay in shape, as we follow him around as he enjoys getting into everything! He loves to be outside helping his Daddy put the yard in, or rather likes playing in the dirt and just being a boy! In addition to working, Steve has been going through his master's program online through the University of Idaho to get his Masters of Engineering. Even though it is busy for him, he still finds time to give his little buddy his undivided attention! Jackson's favorite time of the day is when his Daddy comes home! Its one of my favorite things to watch them play and laugh! We are looking forward to the warm summer weather, along with watching Jackson discover some fun new things, like playing in the sprinklers, watching fireworks, and eating ice cream! Fun times ahead, incredible times already past, while enjoying all the times in between!
